EXEMPTIONS

Who can request an exemption?

• Students who have previously taken the language proficiency test and scored in the average or high categories.
• Students who have previously taken the language proficiency test and scored in the low category and then successfully completed the refresher course.

Who cannot get an exemption?

• Students who have not yet taken the VU language proficiency test.
• Students who have previously taken the language proficiency test and received low scores and have not successfully completed the refresher course.
• Students who have taken a language proficiency test at another educational institution.

How do you request an exemption?

If you are eligible for an exemption, please fill out this form on VU.nl. If you passed the VU language proficiency test or completed the refresher course in 2020 or later, you do not have to request an exemption. This will happen automatically.
